Have you heard about ZocDoc? The company started on TechCrunch in 2007. Their goal is to allow people to find and book appointments for doctors, dentists and other health professionals online.
The company raised $ 50 million in new round with daylight saving time. The company was estimated at $ 700 million or more in this round, we have heard from various sources. ZocDoc did not comment, however, the evaluation team.
They started with just a few dentists and 5000 appointment slots. It took them two years to reach million of available assignments. They now have 5 million within the next 90 days, up to 3 million in February. They are also more than doubled the number of employees in the past six months, up to 150.
Doctors pay $ 250 per month to be a part of ZocDoc. I have tried all possible to get a good income estimates for the company. This is a simple mathematics, once you know the number of doctors within the system, but they will not disclose the number of open meetings on average one doctor, or otherwise disclose income.
Some interesting stuff about the company-
-They were mentioned in the Wall Street Journal in 2007 after the launch of our event as part of the article, while there was a tech bubble. Of course in the modern world watch just a clever evaluations since 2007.
-The company has a brutal, funny not logo. They didn't seem to mind at all. Apparently he has not slowed down growth.
-ZocDoc would launch as Doctors.com, but whoever owned it wants $ 4 million for the domain name, says CEO Cyrus Massoumi. Thus they bought zocdoc.com for $ 6 instead.
-DST is on a tear. Forget the previous investment in Facebook, Groupon and Zynga. Only in the last few months they have invested in Twitter, Airbnb, Spotify and ZocDoc.
-There are obvious comparisons between ZocDoc and Otkryt'Tablicu. One interesting point raised by a fan of the company is much more than the restaurant industry health industry. ZocDoc can be a big winner.
Disclosure: I am not an investor in ZocDoc, but I have asked to invest. In any case, I am a fan. Bad logo and all.
Maintaining good oral health necessitates selecting a dentist who can deal with your specific need; such as, there are dentists who specialize in a particular area of dentistry. A pediatric or kids' dentist examines infants and children up to 17 years.
