Drchrono, a startup that simplifies the professional lives of doctors by using electronic medical records and much more than the iPad, has raised another $ 650 000 in seed funding from founder of DST, Yuri Milner and General catalyst. In July the company raised seed funding of $ 675.000 General catalyst, Charles River Ventures, 500 startups, creator of Gmail and FriendFeed co-founder Google senior engineer Matt Cutts, Paul Buchheit and Fund launch.
As we wrote in the past, the drchrono in the iPad app allows physicians to meet patient to dictate notes through audio, take photos, write prescriptions and send them in drugstores, enable reminders, clinical notes, access to laboratory results and, most importantly the input of electronic health records.
Now it looks drchrono to disrupt another part of the medical office experience, providing a new iPad application, called OnPatient, which replaces the patient check-in process. So as soon as you enter the medical office, you usually give the Clipboard with a number of forms to fill in the waiting room, including General information, history, privacy, and much more.
Now doctors offices can provide users with Drchrono free iPad application instead of from the Clipboard. The patient enables patients to complete family history, demographic information and insurance; Take a photo and sign a consent form HIPAA with a digital signature. With the application, you can only fill out the form, and they are recorded in this interface, so that patients will not be able to switch to other applications or access information from other patients.
And to facilitate the lives of doctors, the application integrates with drchrono in the medical record interface, so the medical staff should not enter all the data of the patient. On subsequent visits, patients should not duplicate forms — they only needed to review their information and make any necessary changes on the iPad.
This is just another way in which the drchrono facilitates the lives of doctors and their staff. As you might have heard, the Obama administration is currently incentives for physicians to start their medical records online. drchrono was approved for the training of doctors to get $ 44 million in incentives when they use the software as a platform for electronic medical records. In fact, drchrono is the first native of EMC on the iPad must be given for constructive use under stimulation.
Michael Nusimow, co-founder and CEO of drchrono, tells us that the company sweetened the deal for many doctors and now refuses to fee structure for its EMC platform (freemium model is drchrono). And he reiterated the company's goal: for each doctor in the country will use drchrono for medical records and data entry.
